Proxy and Network
[Guide] Why do PhoneGrid cloud phones need a proxy?
PhoneGrid provides the cloud phone runtime environment, but does not provide proxy services. A cloud phone needs a proxy to obtain a network exit.
The proxy affects the IP address, region, and network exit shown when the cloud phone accesses the internet. PhoneGrid does not sell proxies and does not recommend any proxy type or proxy provider. Users need to prepare their own proxies and make sure the proxy information can be entered and detected according to the fields shown in PhoneGrid.
[FAQ] Does PhoneGrid provide proxies?
No.
PhoneGrid only provides the cloud phone environment. Users need to prepare their own proxies. You can add your proxy to PhoneGrid and associate it with a cloud phone.
Proxy information usually includes:
- Proxy type: subject to the options supported on the PhoneGrid page
- Host/IP
- Port
- Username: required by some proxies
- Password: required by some proxies
- Refresh URL: provided by some rotating proxies

[FAQ] How do I add a proxy and associate it with a cloud phone?
There are two ways.
Option 1: Configure a proxy while creating a cloud phone
- Go to Profiles
- Click New profile
- Find Network settings
- Enter a new proxy, or select a saved proxy
- Continue creating the cloud phone after network detection passes

Option 2: Add a proxy in Proxy Management first
- Go to Proxy
- Click Add proxy
- Enter the proxy information
- Click proxy detection
- Save the proxy after detection succeeds
- Select the saved proxy when creating or editing a cloud phone
[FAQ] What should I do if proxy detection fails?
Check the following in order:
- Confirm that the proxy type, host/IP, port, username, and password are correct
- Confirm that the proxy has not expired, been paused, or run out of traffic
- Check whether the proxy provider has configured an IP allowlist, authentication rules, or usage restrictions
- Change the IP query channel and run detection again
- If the same proxy cannot connect in other tools either, contact the proxy provider
If you still cannot identify the cause after these checks, contact PhoneGrid Support with a proxy detection screenshot and the time when the issue occurred.
[FAQ] What should I do if a cloud phone has no network?
When a cloud phone has no network, check the proxy first.
Please confirm in order:
- Whether the cloud phone is associated with a proxy
- Whether the proxy passes detection in PhoneGrid
- Whether the proxy has expired or run out of traffic
- Whether the proxy username and password are correct
- Whether the proxy provider restricts how the proxy can be used
If proxy detection passes but the cloud phone still cannot access the network, restart the cloud phone and try again. If the issue remains, contact PhoneGrid Support with a screenshot or screen recording.
